2nd Annual Convention | 17 March 2016 | DBSA Vulindlela Auditorium | Midrand

Theme: #IMSME Expands Networks for Inclusive Entrepreneurship

Vulindlela-Academy-main-auditorium-7 - webIt is with honour and on behalf of Thabo Makgoba, Archbishop of Cape Town, Chancellor of the University of Cape Town and Patron of the South African Small and Medium Enterprises Federation (SASMEF), that we invite you to become a member of SASMEF and attend the 2nd Annual Convention. As registered member you will be a crucial participant in charting the future direction of SASMEF. Click here for convention endorsements.

Three red flags call out in South Africa:

  1. The NDP records that the SMME environment is fragmented
  2. The government and big business response is inhibited by the fragmentation: too many voices!
  3. The exceptional high failure rate among SMME’s

SASMEF acts to resolve these dilemmas. For this reason SASMEF was formed in 2011 and has become the national private social enterprise that unlocks resources from the political and economic centres as a catalyst for the creation and development of sustainable SME’s.

In the SASMEF presentation to Professor Edith Vries, Director General of the National Department of Small Business, Professor Vries called SASMEF “the UDF of SME in South Africa”.

SASMEF presentations have been validated by the Senior Economist in the Presidency, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Trade & Industry Ms. Fubbs, the National Small Business Advisory Council (per SME act 204), Economic and Management Business Faculties of several Universities as well as the acknowledgement and support of aligned goals by the DSBD, EU and UNDP.

SASMEF_300X200SASMEF is a federation (like the UDF) and by its constitution it will hold the Convention to present National Policy by the DG Professor Edith Vries, a presentation of best practice in supply chain management from Mexico by the UNDP and Studies in micro-lending in South Africa by the EIB.
